Planning: Arts, science and education

Two artistic interventions articulating art, science and education will take place during the conference.

-          One on the first evening of the conference (October, 6) at 19.00 in the auditorium “Amphidice

Participants and the public invited by the UGA will attend the dramatized reading by Cassandra Divine despairs Company. The text is the outcome of the meeting between Simon Grangeat, author, and Thierry Tatoni, ecologist, director of the Mediterranean Institute of Biodiversity and Ecology.

This text was written for the project “Binôme # 3”, led by the company “Le Sens des mots”, which puts together artists and scientists in order to make people discover sciences in a different way.

The performance will be followed by a moment of exchange with the actors and the author of the text about the piece and the theme of the symposium. A convivial buffet will close the evening.

For organization purposes we need all participant to register even if this event is free.

-          The other one at the end of the conference (October, 7) on the lawns near the “Amphidice”.

The plastic artist Celine Dodelin will perform for the closing of the conference. The artist seeks to shift our perception of the environment, to add a poetic and aesthetic touch to the daily hustle.

She questions the place left to Nature in the city  and our relationship with it. You can find her works in Lyon at Hopital Saint Jean de Dieu or in the neighbourhood of “Bon Lait” near the Ecole Normale Supérieure (Villeurbanne, Campus de la Doua) or on the front of the “Centre mémoire et Société le Rize”, or in the “École Supérieure du Professorat et de l'Éducation” of Grenoble. She will offer us a work called "Spin" that will be conducted during the conference and that needs public participation.

Participants will choose a wild bee in the identification booklet produced by bees Arthropologia. Once the bee is chosen, you need to finalize sponsorship by sending an mail to Celine Dodelin. At the end of the conference, every person who sponsored a bee will leave with part of the work created.

In exchange, you will have to send to the artist a photo of the installation of the part of the work in its new context: a garden, a balcony, a window, a desk ... and then, when possible, with a bee who decided to nest in the work. All the pictures will restore swarming. We count on you!

The artist will be present both days to install the work and exchange with the public.
